Have you wondered about this?
When something wonderful happens the natural response is to share the experience with friends and indeed your family. A first engagement, marriage, baby, new home, first overseas trip or even a new car. Most would celebrate and share another person's happiness or passion when it comes to something wonderful. It is tolerated even if it means having to sit through yet another slideshow of the newborn baby; grandchild graduating from kindergarten or the new home.
But when the wonderment of God is shared, it seems to invoke, in many, an invisible defence mechanism. It brings out an automatic barrier almost as if it is instigated by another person from within.
Have you wondered why?
Have you also wondered who this 'other' person is?
Next time observe your reaction when someone brings out Christianity..... watch this 'other' person in you come up with objections, deflections, rationalisations and even arguments. Watch the rise of auto intolerance when it comes to the glory of God.
Additionally, in our politically correct environment, the wonderment of God is also included in the list of topics to avoid: Sex, Politics and Religion (God).
This 'other' person is infiltrating, albeit quietly, into every fibre of our existence. The basic difference between right/wrong is deliberately confused making the wrong appearing normal. Kids now think it is 'normal' to have a 4-parent family, marketing gurus align tastiness to devil-ness and Christianity is seen as old-school.
Stay vigilant, stay conscious and above all stay Godly.
Don't let this 'other' person control you.
Resist this 'other' person in the knowledge that God and your family of believers are all on your side. (1 Peter 5:9)
